We live in ignorance of the 800 military bases, of the 900 billion/year devoted to the military-industrial complex, of the 250 military interventions that have occurred since 1991 and of the sanctions imposed on 40 countries representing 1/3 of humanity.
We live in complete indifference towards the warships positioned in the China Sea and towards the NATO war machine which is installed at the gates of Russia.
We live in ignorance of the destruction, misery and death caused by the United States: since the Japan of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, since the Korean War and the one that took place in Vietnam, all the States of America Latin have been victims of US tyranny. We have also been witnessing in the last thirty years unprecedented assaults by the USA which sow desolation wherever they go: in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen.
We are now engaged in two simultaneous disasters: (I) the instrumentalization of the Ukrainian people to weaken Russia, using a clique of neo-Nazis to achieve this goal, which has engages an entire population in what was known in advance to be a lost war; and (II) an unconditional support for other far-right leaders, who happen this time to be Israelis, who dream of the Greater Israel and who commit genocide in order to partly achieve this goal. The Biden regime is largely responsible for these two tragedies. The International Court of Justice has even said that hose who supply the bombs themselves risk of being accused of complicity in the genocide.
The unbearable images of the genocide reach us daily LIVE via smartphones. Be that as it may, we still live in the certainty of our civilization which is, as everyone knows, the best. The other civilizations are represented by characters that we unhesitatingly describe as the new Hitlers: Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, Osama Bin Laden, Bashar Al Assad and Muammar Gaddafi.
We do not understand why terrorists brought down the two World Trade Center Towers. We do not understand why Putin decided to attack Ukraine and we do not understand why terrorists invaded the peaceful territory of Israel to commit atrocities. So we do not hesitate to put on the dossard of Western civilization team which is, to repeat, the best one.
Our civilization respects rights and freedoms better, doesn’t it? So it doesn’t matter if this civilization is represented by a monster of thousand tentacles that intervenes violently almost everywhere in the world, at the risk of leading humanity as a whole to the edge of a precipice.
Biden was a staunch supporter of the Iraq War that killed a million people and he is currently complicit in genocide. But it does not matter, since he is for abortion and Trump is against it. Therefore we just as proudly do not hesitate to put on the dossard of the Democratic Party. Their complicity in atrocities committed around the world is an abstraction that is occurring very far away and it is one that we should not bother us..
We should not be surprised to see Democrats join with Republicans in inviting Netanyahu to come and speak in front of the members of Congress. Democrats and Republicans are part of the same team, but we prefer to maintain the illusion that there are good guys and bad guys. It is an essential feature of the delusional clash of civilizations.
There is nothing we can do to change this. The carnage currently underway in Gaza does not succeed in extirpating citizens from their naive candor. For some, the choice is easy this fall. Between the insane being and the admittedly somewhat senile old man. It’s Jesus Land versus the Blue States.
The difference between Trump and Biden, however, is quite small. One shows the real and monstrous face of imperial power and the other hides that same face by covering it with a thick layer of best intentions and goodwill.
