There are no red lines for Genocide Joe

How could Joe Biden distance himself from the genocide taking place in Gaza when part of his Democratic base was distancing itself from him? First, he would apparently have admonished Netanyahu.

Faced with the scale of the genocide in the form of blocked food aid, what could he do to distance himself from Netanyahu while continuing to supply him with military equipment, as anger continued to grow among young Democrats? Instead of bringing in the food trucks that were waiting to enter the town of Rafah, it was announced that a port area would be built over a period of several months to provide food aid, giving in this way additional time for Netanyahu to continue his carnage.

But with the campus revolt spreading like wildfire and Netanyahu announcing his intention to raze Rafah to the ground, home to a million people, what was left for Biden to do to further distance himself from such horror? The U.S. vaguely announced its support for the Qatari-Egyptian ceasefire proposal that Hamas had accepted, and it was also announced that Biden was halting certain arms deliveries to Israel.

While the genocide continues, mass graves are being uncovered, children are still dying, famine is intensifying and everything is being destroyed, what are Biden, Macron, Scholz, Sunak and Trudeau doing? They still don’t recognize the Palestinian state. They are still not mobilizing to impose this state by force, respecting the 1967 borders. The red line has still not been crossed. They remain Israel’s best friends. Mélanie Joly’s declarations that the bombing of Rafah is « unacceptable » are nothing but hot air. The entire West stands idle as genocide unfolds before our very eyes.

Other horrors are raging around the world, notably in Yemen, Darfur and Congo. But it is from Gaza, first and foremost, that the images are reaching us. What’s more, the West is up to its neck in the carnage taking place in Gaza. Military, financial and political support for Israel makes the West complicit in a genocide of the highest order.

We should then perhaps reconsider the blame that was expressed by the West against the « evil Russians » for getting involved in a war against Ukraine. Could it be that the United States, its NATO allies and the entire West are also to be blamed for having done everything to provoke this was, as so many experts claim?
