When the bombing of a hospital in Gaza caused shock throughout the world, the Israeli spokesperson lied to neutralize public opinion and carried out damage control. They claimed they were not responsible. Once the outrage subsided, they bombed several hospitals and several ambulances without feeling the need to justify themselves. Lies were no longer necessary. International opinion had spent its capital of indignation.
Israel subsequently amplified its aggression until charges of genocide could be made. When the ICJ ruling came down, declaring that Israel was likely committing what could plausibly be described as genocide, the Neo Cons in charge in Washington and the extremist fanatics in charge of Israel lashed out against a UN institution, namely UNRWA, in order to neutralize the impact of the decision made by the highest international court.
But now that this impact has also been neutralized, we can return to business as usual. Genocide is trivialized for both Democrats and Republicans. The Americans are locked in their false superpower bubble. They are everywhere in the Middle East and, like Israel, they will invoke the right to defend themselves in occupied territories, whether in Syria, Iraq or Jordan. What are they doing all over the world with their military bases, other than trying to establish their economic and political domination by force?
We have now become accustomed to American financial, military and diplomatic support for the Gaza genocide. We can move on to another hot topic. The Western population, powerless, except for the millions of demonstrators (notably in New York, Denmark and London), trivialize American imperialism.
We think that the bad guys are on the side of Hamas, Iran, XI’s China and Putin’s Russia.
And yet, we are in a false war of civilizations. We are the worst aggressors and troublemakers in the whole world. We are complicit in an atrocious genocide currently underway.
